High availability services

When uptime
is the product.

High availability isn't one technology, it's a discipline that spans hardware redundancy, server pairs, clustered services, and platform-native resilience. We design and run it end-to-end, so a single failure never becomes a customer-facing outage.

The case for
always-on.

Resilient infrastructure earns its keep in quiet ways, invisible most of the time, decisive when it counts. Here's what well-designed high availability brings to a business.

01
Continuity
Continuity
Services that keep serving

When a server, drive, or network path stops working, the workload moves to a healthy one. Your customers stay connected. Your team stays productive. The day continues.

02
Performance
Performance
Steady response under load

Load balancing spreads traffic across the pool, so no single server gets overwhelmed during a busy period. Faster pages, smoother sessions, room to grow.

03
Recovery
Recovery
Failures that resolve themselves

Automatic detection and rerouting mean recovery happens in seconds, not hours. Your engineers find out from the dashboard, not from a frustrated customer.

04
Maintenance
Maintenance
Updates without interruption

Patch a server, upgrade a database, swap out hardware, without a maintenance window. Take one node down, the rest keep serving, and customers never know.

05
Confidence
Confidence
A platform you can trust

When the infrastructure handles failure on its own, your team plans launches, ships features, and answers customer questions instead of firefighting.

06
Scale and compliance
Scale & compliance
Reliability that grows with you

A well-designed HA architecture adds capacity without adding complexity, and the documented redundancy maps cleanly onto availability requirements your auditors care about.

What a complete
HA design looks like.

Every environment is different, but most production HA designs share the same shape: redundant entry points, health-checked load balancers, pooled application servers, and clustered data behind them. Here's how the pieces fit.

1
Internet ingress
Customer traffic enters from the public internet, the starting point everything else has to keep available.
2
External proxy
A CDN, WAF, or external load balancer terminates TLS, filters bad traffic, and gives a stable address that never changes.
3
Health checks
Active probes throughout the stack identify failed components in seconds, so traffic stops being sent to anything that can't serve it.
4
Internal load balancers
Paired HAProxy nodes with a floating VIP. If one disappears, the other carries the address, and the traffic, without a hiccup.
5
Web server pool
Multiple application servers handle requests in parallel. Capacity, redundancy, and easy horizontal scaling all in one design.
6
Network file system
Shared storage that survives a node loss. Files stay available even when one or more storage servers go offline.
7
Database cluster
Replicated databases with automatic failover and consistent state. Reads spread across replicas; writes survive a primary failure.

From whiteboard
to running platform.

We meet you where you are. Whether you're starting from scratch, hardening an existing environment, or evaluating where the gaps are, there's a shape of engagement that fits.

Design

An HA architecture mapped to your actual workloads, recovery objectives, and budget. You leave with a clear plan, a documented design, and a path forward.

  • Workload & risk assessment
  • Architecture design & documentation
  • Recovery objective scoping
  • Capacity & cost planning
Build

We implement the design, load balancers, clustered services, replicated storage, monitoring, and the failover logic that ties it together. Tested before it's handed over.

  • End-to-end implementation
  • Automated configuration & deployment
  • Failover testing & validation
  • Documentation & team handover
Review & consult

Already have HA in place? We audit what's there, validate failover behaviour, and identify the gaps, so you know exactly where you stand before something tests it for you.

  • Architecture & failover audit
  • Live failover testing
  • Gap analysis & recommendations
  • Targeted hardening engagements
Want us to run it for you?

Many of our customers prefer to have us operate their HA platform on an ongoing basis, monitoring, on-call, patching, and continuous improvement included. That's our managed service: High Availability Managed Services (HAMS). Same expertise, packaged as a long-term partnership.

Three layers.
One outcome.

Resilience is built in tiers. We work across all three, and pick the right combination for your workloads, budget, and recovery objectives.

Layer 01
Server & infrastructure resilience

Redundancy at the hardware and OS layer, bonded NICs, multipath storage, RAID, dual PSUs, and Linux subsystems tuned for fault tolerance. The foundation everything else stands on.

What this covers
  • Network bonding & LACP configuration
  • Multipath SAN / iSCSI storage paths
  • Hardware RAID & software MD arrays
  • UPS & redundant power monitoring
  • Kernel tuning for fault recovery
Linux managed services

Layer 02
Service & data clustering

Active-passive and active-active clusters for the services that matter, databases, file servers, message queues, load balancers. Pacemaker, Corosync, DRBD, replication, and shared-nothing patterns.

What this covers
  • Pacemaker / Corosync resource management
  • PostgreSQL / MySQL / MariaDB replication
  • DRBD & GlusterFS for shared storage
  • HAProxy & keepalived virtual IPs
  • Quorum, fencing, and split-brain prevention
Scope a clustered service

Layer 03
Platform-native HA

Resilience built into the cluster platform itself, Kubernetes pod scheduling, OpenShift control-plane redundancy, Proxmox HA groups, and live migration. HA as a property of the platform, not a bolt-on.

What this covers
  • Kubernetes & OpenShift HA control planes
  • Pod anti-affinity & topology spread
  • Proxmox HA groups & live migration
  • etcd quorum & multi-master databases
  • Multi-zone & multi-region scheduling
Managed cluster services

What HA solves.
What it doesn't.

High availability protects against
  • Single hardware component failure (disk, NIC, PSU, RAM)
  • Single server going offline, planned or otherwise
  • Service crashes & runtime restart loops
  • Network path failure with redundant routing
  • OS patching & upgrades without service downtime
  • Single-AZ failure in cloud-hosted environments
  • Capacity planning during demand spikes
HA is not a substitute for
  • Backups, HA replicates corruption as fast as it replicates data
  • Disaster recovery, region-wide events need a separate plan
  • Application-level bugs & deployment errors
  • Security incidents & ransomware (a separate discipline)
  • Human error & misconfiguration without change control

We treat HA, security, and DR as distinct disciplines. You'll know exactly which one each control belongs to, and where the gaps are before they bite.

Our turnkey solutions

Ready-made HA stacks for databases, web traffic, Kubernetes, shared storage, and in-memory data. We design, build, and run them so any piece can fail or go down for maintenance without taking you offline.
